You’ve heard of Yelp right? It is like your local Yellow pages for food. I honestly look up reviews for every restaurant on Yelp. I love to let reviews help me figure out where to go and what to order. It just helps solidify a good meal! I’ve been Yelping for quite some time. I started taking it even more serious when I found out about Yelp Elite. The Yelp Elite Squad is a cool way of recognizing people who are active in the Yelp community and role models on and off the site. I’m rolling into my second year of being Elite.
Yelp is big on getting involved in the community and helping businesses get exposure and grow. To push forward the initiative, Yelp Communities are growing all across the world. My local Yelp Greenville is awesome. We have monthly Yelp Events that help us try new things, explore new palaces and taste new food. Some Yelp events are open to everyone with a Yelp Account while the smaller events may be Yelp Elite-only – there’s a place for you to join. I’m not getting paid for this – I just want to drop so dope knowledge on you.
With that being said, let’s get into my most recent Yelp adventure. Cyclebar. I had all intentions of having my husband get the wheelchair ready after this cycle class but that’s me being dramatic as always. The class was so exciting! The staff was super helpful and made us ultra-comfortable. After a quick sign in, I grabbed some cycling shoes and found my bike which I reserved online beforehand. I sat in the front of the class off to an angle of the teacher so that I would focus on her and still kind of be ducked off in the corner. A strategy is always good. The music was pumping and the adrenaline was flowing. Lindsey was an amazing instructor that guided us through the ride with confidence and bounce. She was basically a trainer and a DJ as she insisted we don’t give up while she controlled the mood lighting and playlist on the iPad to her side. The workout lasted about 50mins. It was intense and challenging but really fun. It wasn’t as dramatic as I envisioned. You just have to accept the challenge and push past it.
I also had some motivation because I knew what was waiting for me on the other side! Happy + Hale! Happy + Hale hails from Durham, NC but planted their feet in GVL last year. Located right across from Falls Park, they serve up great salads, smoothies, and juices! Take a look at the photos and try not to drool! I grabbed my favorites – Thai Chicken Crunch salad and an Almond Brothers Smoothie. Happy + Hale takes me to a happy place. Great food that is good for you!
This was an amazing Yelp Event to kick off #LiveYoBestLife2018! Get to Yelping and nominate yourself for Yelp Elite 2019. Nominations come back around in December! Check out Cyclebar ASAP – they have a special for new riders only that’s $39 for 5 rides !
