Washington D.C is a vibrant city with a rich history and plenty of must-see attractions. When visiting DC, there are plenty of amazing restaurants to check out!
CR NOMA
When we first touched down in D.C. we hit happy hour in the city. We pulled up to @crnoma! They had plenty of seating for our large party. We ordered several fresh pitas and dips. The Whipped ricotta and lemon honey was mind blowing. Everything was delicious. That burger was so soft and well-made! Compliments to the chef. A burger after a flight will always hit the spot!
Ben’s Chili Bowl
This iconic DC establishment has been serving up delicious chili since 1958. This family-owned restaurant has become a staple in the Washington D.C community and has even been visited by celebrities like President Obama. Be sure to try their famous chili half-smoke, a spicy sausage topped with chili, onions, and mustard. What’s DC without a stop to the legendary @benseverything? 3 am cheese fries may or may not be a grand idea.
Kitchen Cray
@kitchencray was PHENOMENAL! The server was so kind. The music was on point and baybeee- The Catfish and Grits were IT!!! Everyone enjoyed their cocktails and plates. I heard the lamb chops were a HIT! There was a DJ spinning some R&B. It was a great vibe to start our day of museum tours.
We visited the African American Museum. There was a line of food trucks in the front. We grabbed a snack. The Gyro food truck in front of the @nmaahc museum has me upset because that was NOT tzatziki sauce – It was RANCH 😖. So, that kind of threw me off.
The Harlot
Next, check out The Harlot for brunch. The atmosphere is very Alice in Wonderland Garden-esque. Lots of flowers, royal colors, chandeliers, and velvet fabrics. Somehow it all flows together in a vibey way. This trendy restaurant in the U Street neighborhood offers a delicious brunch menu with unique dishes like avocado toast with smoked salmon and an omelet with crab, spinach, and brie cheese. Pair your meal with a refreshing mimosa or a spicy bloody mary.@harlotdc has a prefixed three-course menu. The appetizers were lightweight but the entree was tasty. The desserts were mid. Not my mother’s bread pudding, if I do say so myself. Washington D.C has a lot of amazing brunch spots.
The Point
For dinner, head over to The Point, located in the Georgetown neighborhood. This upscale restaurant offers a menu with a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster risotto and seared scallops. The restaurant also has an extensive wine list, making it the perfect place for a romantic date night or a special occasion. @thepointdc was scrumptious! I wasn’t too hungry so I did a Salmon Ceaser and Wood Roasted Chesapeake Oysters! yummmmm! Some plates at the table included sushi, Brussels sprouts, crab cakes, and oysters.
In conclusion, Washington DC is a city full of amazing restaurants and attractions. Be sure to check out Ben’s Chili Bowl for a taste of DC history, The Harlot for a delicious brunch, and The Point for a memorable dining experience.
