Get ready to be dazzled when you stay at the Thompson Buckhead Hotel. Boasting stunning decor and amenities, you’ll feel like royalty from the moment you walk in the door. Enjoy an on-site restaurant and art gallery with a feeling reminiscent of a museum. The Thompson Buckhead is located in an ideal spot right off Peachtree Road. This gives visitors easy access to some of the city’s popular tourist spots like Piedmont Park or the High Museum of Art. Plus, with local restaurants and shopping just steps away, you’ll never be at a loss for something fun to do while staying here. The hotel itself has a modern yet classic vibe that will make you feel like royalty.

The Thompson is Buckhead Royalty

Opening in December of 2021, Thompson Buckhead has added a little razzle to Buckhead. Its luxury appeal blends seamlessly into the upscale retail, restaurants, and bustle of Buckhead. Breathe in the Atlanta skyline at the rooftop pool deck, lined with private cabanas, relax with curated cocktails in their “jewel box” lobby bar, and dig into Italian-American fare at Dirty Rascal. The Jewel box lobby is an accurate description. The orange and red jewel tones are illuminated with enticing gold light fixtures. Gracefully, the arches, curves, and accents of the decor create a gallery feel.

There are large paintings and sculptures adorning the lobby. It appears they have event space available for booking. There is also a study that has electrical hookups, couches, and bookshelves curated with designed books. It was a cute place to duck off to work without distraction. We worked in the lobby for a few hours. The seating was comfortable, and the hum of the music wasn’t too loud. Complimentary coffee and teas in the morning were a pleasant bonus.

The Thompson Goes Vintage

The room gave an excellent blend of curated art and vintage. Upon walking in, there is a cute entryway of art, an accent lamp, a table, and an umbrella stand. The bathroom stands out with its spacious black marble countertops and ultra-def lighting. The mirror gets ALL the angles. There were helpful motion-triggered lights under the vanity, so you didn’t have to keep a light on to find the bathroom at night. Funky and Fresh. The room was decorated with mixed-and-matched pieces of hanging art, lamps, and funky pieces.

The bar was a vintage appealing emerald green filled with unique snacks. On top sat the bottle bar, complimentary coffee, tea, and a Nespresso. Furthermore, the side tables and lighting were giving retro geometrics. It was a nice spice of decor that flowed well. Hardwood floors and tall windows allowed the natural lighting to bounce around the room.

Grab a Bite to Eat

Tucked inside Thompson Buckhead is Dirty Rascal. Their decor flows seamlessly from the hotel. The Italian restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. With a stunning large bar as the centerpiece and a wall of windows facing Peachtree street, the eatery carries warm vibes. Led by James Beard-nominated Chef Todd Ginsberg, Dirty Rascal offers Italian-American fare with a modern twist. We enjoyed their Burger Stack and Shrimp and Grits with a tabasco twist. Additionally, there is a bar in the lobby that opens in the evenings.

The service across the board was excellent from the bar and restaurant to the concierge. We had an extremely lowkey and enjoyable stay at The Thompson. I feel like they had a live DJ at night. We got in super late so you have to fact-check me on that later!

Overall, my stay at the Thompson Buckhead was an incredible experience. It was a world-class hotel that not only provided luxurious accommodations but also a range of amenities and friendly service. From the moment I checked in, I felt well taken care of. Whether it was playing some relaxing in the lobby or grabbing a bite to eat at their restaurant, this hotel delivered nothing less than excellence. If you’re looking for a hotel that will exceed expectations during your stay in Atlanta, look no further than the Thompson Buckhead.
