You may peep me at Yelp events frequently ☺️ Digging into eats and discovering new places. Folks ask me often what is Yelp Elite?
First of all, let’s dig into Yelp. Yelp is a customer review based app. Patrons of restaurants, cleaners, nail shops, etc can leave their reviews of their experience while rating the establishment on a five-star system. You can drop tips for ordering and pictures of your experience. I rely on Yelp HEAVY. I scan it to find a restaurant to try when I’m in new cities. I use the pictures to help me finalize my meal choice.
You can find contemporary spots, the city’s finest Chinese takeout or the perfect steakhouse of an elegant evening. Yelp gives eateries the option to support reservations and waitlists! So you can notice the BBQ restaurant has a 25 min wait and you can toss your name on the list before you even arrive! It comes in CLUTCH.
Occasionally you will find Check-In deals. For example, if you Check-In your location, you may get a free dessert or 10% off. I appreciate the establishments that take advantage of these features. A few weeks ago, I got a free slice of cheesecake from D’Allesandro’s Pizza in Greenville just for checking in!
Level up to Yelp Elite and the heat turns up a notch. Many cities have Yelp communities. The Yelp Elite are top reviewers and the most robust Yelpers in the hood! As a consistent Yelper with in-depth reviews and quality pictures, you can be nominated for Yelp Elite annually. I’m three years deep into Yelp Elite. I use our monthly functions as my personal mommy night out haha. I even have my parents joining their local Yelp. It’s amusing when they text me, ”On the way to a Yelp event !”. They send me pictures of them eating lamb burgers on a rooftop in downtown Charleston! 
The Yelp Community Leader links up with local businesses in the community to help shine a spotlight on their services and creations. Events range from Elegant Venue tours to Kickboxing classes and Cupcake Bake offs. Every month is a new adventure. Official Yelp Events OYE are open to all Yelpers, some are Elite Only or Elite with a plus one!
I appreciate learning about my community through food and informational laid back setups. Some of my favorite Yelp Events have been the Barre Class with catered food, The Cycle bar class catered by Happy and Hale. The Escape Room adventure catered by Asada. You get to team build with your Yelp friends and eat big while doing it! I always say the best bonds are built over a meal. I’ve met some amazing people through Yelp.
