I fell into complete bliss at Urban MedSpa. I finally treated myself to my first facial. I’m on a journey of understanding more about my skin and how to give it the best care with the help of professionals. My desire for knowledge and some “Me Time” led to booking a facial with Charlotte Urban MedSpa.
I chose Urban MedSpa because I have already incorporated their Urban Skin RX products into my daily routine. Their Even and Tone Cleansing Bar, Clear & Even Tone Clarifying Glycolic Pads, and Pumpkin Pore Detox Scrub have tackled some problems I’ve been having. The products are powered up by the mission of Urban Skin which is to produce effective, results-driven skincare to all people. They have a laser focus on closing the skincare gap for folks of melanin-rich skin tackling issues like hyperpigmentation, dullness, breakouts, and melasma. This played a big role in my decision to pull up to the proclaimed Melanin Experts! Despite the name, their award-winning products are beneficial for everyone. There are aestheticians in my city but I wanted someone that deals with my type of skin and the unique challenges that come with.
I floated into their home base, Urban Med Spa in Charlotte, NC. COVID has altered the spas check-in process but once I was in this gorgeous establishment. The lobby was clean and filled with products wall to wall. The waiting room wasn’t getting any action (because … COVID) but it was decorated with velvet couches and chandeliers as light afro soul / R&B waved through the speakers.
Everything in the Spa was my wavelength. The spa room was simple and chic. I received an oxygenated microdermabrasion facial. FANTASTIC! Something about getting your face gently double cleansed with Jhene Aiko and Khalid gently singing in the background tickles my soul. I did not want my facial to end! The microdermabrasion portion consisted of a machine that sprays microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells to reveal younger, healthier-looking skin. You can receive this every 3-4 weeks to see continuous results! Oxygenated facials calm inflammation, kill bacteria, drive antioxidants and vitamins into the skin. This deep exfoliation is great for thick, oily, or acne-prone skin! This treatment is incredible for frequent travelers. Ubers, airplanes, and adventures can wreak havoc on your skin.
It has been two weeks since my facial and I can still feel a difference. I thought my skin would go back to feeling clogged and dull in a few days. My Aestheticians said 70% of our skin health is home regimen and I believe using their products consistently after my facial has kept my skin moving in the right direction. I’m looking forward to problem-solving treatments to help get my skin where I want it. I learned a lot while getting pampered. A trip well worth it for some solace, confidence, and education.
If you can’t make it to Urban MedSpa, their products are phenomenal. Every product I’ve purchased in the last year has played its role very well. They have layers of effective ingredients to give you RESULTS! You can have a piece of the spa in your bathroom.
